Richard Murphy
Recording Secretary
Brothers and Sisters,
It has been an honor to serve the members of Local 26 throughout my 36-year career. For the past 25 years, I’ve been proud to dedicate my time and energy to working on behalf of our membership — first as a part-time and then full-time instructor for the JATC, followed by 11 years as the JATC Assistant Training Director. Since 2011, I have had the privilege of serving as your Recording Secretary and Business Representative.
Over the years, I’ve remained committed to supporting our membership in every way I can. I’ve been a licensed journeyman wireman in Maryland, DC, and Virginia since 1993. I served four terms as a Union Election Judge from 2001 to 2010, and have represented Local 26 as a delegate to the Metro Washington Council, AFL-CIO since 2012. I currently serve as a trustee on the Health & Welfare, Pension, and Annuity Funds, and have previously served as a trustee for the JATC and JATTF. In addition, I’ve proudly served on the Maryland Building Rehabilitation Code Advisory Council since 2015.
As our Local continues to grow in both membership and contractor base, it is critical that we maintain a proven and experienced leadership team to guide us through the challenges and opportunities ahead. I respectfully ask for your vote to continue serving as your Recording Secretary, and I urge you to support the full Cash-Myers ticket in the upcoming election.
In solidarity,
Rich Murphy
