Mark Pontello
Treasurer
Brothers and Sisters,
My journey with IBEW Local 26 began in 1999 when I was selected for the Inside Wireman Apprenticeship Program. I graduated in 2004 and began working in the field as a journeyman wireman. Over the years, I gained experience in various roles, including service truck electrician, lead electrician, and foreman, working for both C&L Contractors and Chesapeake Electrical Services.
In July 2016, I was brought on staff as an Organizer, a role I continue to serve in today with pride. My work in the Organizing Department has allowed me to meet and support countless members while helping strengthen the presence and future of Local 26. In 2019, I was appointed to the Examining Board and was elected to continue that role in 2022. Since April 2021, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Chairman of the Examining Board, working to ensure that candidates entering our trade meet the high standards we uphold.
Beyond my responsibilities in organizing and examining, I also coordinate the Local 26 Annual Golf Outing and manage our union calendars—efforts that help keep our membership informed and connected.
If elected Treasurer, I will bring the same level of commitment and integrity to managing the financial affairs of our union as I have in every role I’ve held. I respectfully ask for your support and your vote as we work together to keep Local 26 strong and united.
Fraternally,
Mark Pontello
