Luis Gonzalez

Examining Board

Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Luis Gonzalez Mendez, and I’ve been a proud member of IBEW Local 26 for the past 20 years. In 2017, I was given the opportunity to serve as a full-time Organizer for our Local, allowing me to help improve the lives of countless others.

Over the last seven years, I’ve worked on the front lines of organizing, representing Local 26 at job fairs, visiting both union and non-union job sites, and building relationships across the industry. I’ve worked closely with the Washington, D.C. Building Trades Council and assisted our Political Department by testifying at hearings and advocating for policies that bring more union jobs to our region.

Through this work, I’ve seen the importance of not only growing our union but protecting the standards that define our trade. That’s why I’m running for a position on the Examining Board—because I believe in holding the line on quality, integrity, and opportunity for all our members. I want to ensure that those who dedicate themselves to the electrical trade are recognized, respected, and supported in their path to becoming Journeyman Wiremen.

It would be an honor to bring my experience and commitment to the Examining Board. I respectfully ask for your vote and your support as we continue working to build a stronger Local 26 for today and for the future.

Fraternally,

Luis Gonzalez
